The Brocato and Correro Family in Mississippi
Again I find that this family line is very difficult to follow. Historically, Italians were migrant workers often traveling to and from Italy to the Gulf Coast frequently for seasonal work. The majority of Italian immigrants likely came through the port of New Orleans which was one of the hundreds of ports other than New York that are less known.
The Brocato family first immigrated around the late 1800's to New Orleans. While it's difficult to say which were related and which were not, One thing is for sure that this particular family migrated north after only a few years. They moved to central Mississippi.
The Correro (Correri) Family also came through the New Orleans port but likely earlier. My great-grandfather Brocato, met and married a Correro in Louisiana but raised their family in Mississippi.
